Parents around the globe consider play to be a simple, natural, childhood pleasure, few however, take play seriously. Experts are learning there’s more to play than just the sheer joy of it.

Play specialists tell us that play is fundamental to a child’s development. It’s how children explore the world and discover their role in it. The beauty of play is that children initiate and control it. Through play, they develop, socially, creatively, morally, physically and emotionally. When kids play, they learn how to deal with conflict and emotional situations.

The importance of play is often overlooked. When children play, they are not merely passing time. They’re Growing. Learning. Sharing. Discovering.
They are opening themselves to the world and establishing themselves in it.

Kids don’t wait for pre- school to start learning. It begins well before that, through discovery, exploration and most importantly, play. Whether they are playing in the sandpit or pretending to be princesses in a castle, when kids are playing they are learning

Parents are concerned about their children’s safety and well being. Children spend countless hours motionless watching TV, playing video games or sitting in front of their computers. Opportunities to play outdoors are decreasing as parents increasingly rely on organised children’s programs to keep their children entertained.

Since 2004 Parklands Play Planet has addressed these issues by providing a safe and imaginative indoor and outdoor setting with numerous structured and unstructured activities allowing interaction , discovery, and physical play.

Parklands Play Planet creates an atmosphere in which to stimulate and educate children from 18 months to the time they are ready for Primary School. Because children learn through play they need a structured learning environment in which to develop. The emphasis at the Centre will be on learning through guided discovery leading the child towards independence.

The Pre School provide a structured Early Learning programme created to stimulate young bodies and minds in all areas of their development.

We also offer a full and comprehensive school readiness programme with a qualified Grade R teacher.
